The big thing on this touchscreen is the ability to track multiple touches.

That is a HUGE technological leap.

Older touchscreens (ir, capacitance, saw) would incorrectly report a
touch if more than 1 point was touched. Depending on the type, it
would either take the average of the touches and report a touch in the
middle of them all, or it would take the largest point set.

This leap changes the interface from a symbolic desktop where you can
only touch it with 1 point at a time to a realistic 2d desktop where
you can actual manipulate objects.

This will be a huge deal in the next few years.
