You couldn't be more wrong.  I blame people for being poor consumers.  If you 
purchase things without thinking about it just because a marketer does a good 
job then you are not working in your own best interest.   I am for individual 
responsibility, including the collective good of the nation, world, and planet. 

Was it P.T. Barnum that said "there is a sucker born every minute"?  

It is our responsibility to look out for our own best interests, that includes 
deciphering the difference between long term and short term best interests and 
the pure BS provided by the marketers who are forever doing their best to 
expediate the separation of a fool and his money.
