This is an interesting issue and one that will become more and more driven by globalization over the next few years. Why wait for the Canadian public system, and why wait for private clinics in Canada to open up? Just jump over the border to the US and get the operation there. Have a major procedure and can't afford Canada/US rates? Take off to Thailand and have your procedure performed there in a private hospital with private luxury patient suites for a fraction of the cost of US surgical rates.
