does the validity of free speech apply to yelling fire in a crowded theater, or does it apply when you're in the middle of inciting a riot.
there are limitations on free speech. That's been a valid concession since the concept of free speech was first discussed by the Empiricists in the 1600's and 1700's. As for your KKK comment, there's also freedom of association. Moreover there are no laws forbidding that sort of speech, yet. I'm actually not sure what you're arguing here Gel, you seem to be going at it on both sides. Talking about straw men, you're bringing up a big one as well - the evil and wicked white man. If you want to go that route, what about the slaughter of the indigenous people of Benin in the 1400's by the Ashanti Kingdom or the genocide of Islamic Ethopeans during the early Kingdom era - around 1000 AD. Or the slaughter of the people of the Kalahari by the Swahili people in the 1700's through the early 1800's. Or the very active participation of the west Africans in the slave trade. Read up on how the slaver kingdoms on the west coast of Africa for generations had slaving expeditions to the interior with the express purpose of enslaving entire nations for trading with Portugese and Spanish slave traders. Or the connivance of Arab slave traders who shipped people from the interior of Africa up through the Nile and then on to the slave markets in the Ottoman Empire, Egypt, and other islamic nations. While whites are condemned for the African slave trade no mention or condemnation is made of those groups.
