Because, he believes, as do I, as does EVERYONE I know, as do all the
leaders of my Church, as does ALL scientific evidence AND just about
ALL philosophical and theological thinking, that they are wrong. The
earth (and man) is older than 6700 years.

But if they were quiet about it, and didn't keep thrusting their
beliefs into the limelight, no one would care. Once they start to hold
their beliefs up to public scrutiny, the public has every right to
scrutinize.

Do they have the right to bring it up? Sure? Do they have the right to
try to change the minds of other people? Sure. But they also have the
right to be laughed at by those who do not agree and find their
arguments absurd.

All beliefs aren't created equal. Just because I believe that the
earth is flat, and that all girls who don't go out with me are
lesbians, doesn't mean I am necessarily right. (I am, though)
