While the attacks on Iraqis have increased the attacks against Americans
have gone down a little bit. Both sides kind of want us in the middle for
now, other than the extremes that want nothing more than to kill each other.

Seriously man, things are actually getting better there every day. The
quality of life has vastly increased for the common Iraqi off the street.

Now, I'm not Bushy, and I'm not going to stand on a freaking carrier and say
combat options are all over. That's not realistic. Remember we were in
Vietnam for 10 years, WW2 for most of 4-5 years. This shit isn't overnight,
and really the fight didn't begin until the Iraqi government actually was
elected, the constitution approved, and the coalition government formed.
What happens with the new class of reps is going to change everything. The
PM or President (I can't remember which one right now, is very closely tied
to some of the groups that have become most violent during the in-fighting.

LOL, fair enough fellas, you could be right.

I guess I'm basing my thoughts on the fact that Iraq seems to be closer to
civil war than ever and that the bombings don't seem to be slowing down. It
seems as if attacks on Americans are the same or worse as well.

Am I mistaken?
