The difference to me was the "freshness" of the beer. They can get it anywhere on the island in a few hours or less. It was cold as hell.. and tasty.
Some beers are served at warmer temps (although nothing, not even Europe is served at over 45 degrees Fahrenheit) because it brings out the flavor. Frigidly cold Guinness tastes like a dirty ashtray. Once it's warmed it brings out some of the sweeter flavors and makes it much more drinkable. Sheafs, an Australian stout, has the consistency of warm syrup at low temps. It has to be at around 45 degrees to be drinkable. Scott A.
