I know its a novel, you know its a novel. Obviously, neither the Muslims
nor the Jehovah's Witnesses do. ( I didn't know whether it would work or
not when I did it, it obviously did the trick.

Just a quick note, satan is a christian concept. There is no satan in the
paganistic belief system. Pagans can't be satanists because they don't
believe in that concept.

For a pagan version of how to deal with evangelical Christians, see

Ha! I love 'em both! :)

Problem with the Satanic Verses iirc is that even though the Muslims had put
a real price on Rushdie's head, he's just a novelist, and the book was only
intended to entertain people.

Satanism with its black masses, etc. is really nothing to be afraid of
anyhow. The church was founded by someone who perceived his experiences with
Christianity as being two-faced (I'm not necessarily inclined to disagree
based on my own experiences with Christianity).
The church validated its members' desire to live as they wanted (imo always
a good thing). I've never heard a legitimate and provable instance of them
hurting anyone (as compared to Christians, Muslims and Jews). Granted that
probably has a lot to do with the math of it
-- 'cause when you do the math, you realize that there have historically
been so few satanists that the likelyhood of any one of them being homicidal
is much lower than for mainstream religions which have historically had
larger memberships by several orders of magnitude. So the satanists like to
dress up in black robes and have a mass with a naked chick on an altar while
they fornicate and read the bible in reverse. Doesn't sound to me like
that's hurting anyone. :) Honestly sounds pretty silly (and fun) to me. :)

Seriously anyone who's afraid of Satanists should do some homework. Go back
and find the articles and documentaries about Alister Crowley (who I heard
died crazy after his son died during one of their rituals, but I'm not
convinced that's not either coincidental or just because Crowley himself
went crazy irrespective of his group, much like I don't believe the women in
TX killing their kids are representative of Christianity as a whole). And
Crowley's successor Anton LeVey who founded the Church of Satan after having
been a lion tamer. :P

I've not read these entries thoroughly myself... just FYI. I have seen a
recorded interview with LaVey ... He seemed like a nice guy (not unlike
Marylin Manson actually). :)
