This month's Playstation Magazine Disc has a playable demo of Okami which takes you through the tutorial.
I'm torn... On one hand its cliché. Pure cliché. You break pots to collect coins. You have an out of place street-talking, sassy sidekick. You have a double jump. You have to collect powers as you progress. You have to save the world from a once-vanquished and now-reawakened evil. On the other hand this game is instantly, immediately and almost painfully beautiful. The controls are fluid and intuitive. The gameplay, especially the brush and ink mechanic, is completely engaging and so very, very smooth (it's not just an after thought like so many other gimmicks). I'm definitely going to pick this one up. Playing the demo cemented that (although who really knows - the whole thing could get old real fast) but definitely is a highly traditional third person adventure game in a brand new (and gorgeous) kimono Jim Davis ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:199651 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
