We use a standard TIVO 80gb unit with DirecTV and it works fine. One caveat,
The setup for the TIVO is f'king ridiculous, taking a total of 8.5 hours including whatever internal processing it thinks it has to do.... Also you have to do the entire setup over a modem..BEFORE..it will allow you to do any type of broadband hookup(which requires you to buy a $30 usb-ethernet adapter) Thanks Scott Scott A. We have DirecTV Satellite service. Does anyone know if they force you to use one of their DVRs or can you pick up any 3rd party DVR? If it's the later, does anyone have good recommendations for a good DVR, preferably one that will allow us to burn movies to a DVD and being able to watch a show while recording another show would be cool too. Thanks for the help GM ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:200182 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
