We are obviously not ever going to agree. I think laws are important. I think enforcing the law is important. I think we should do everything in our power to enforce our borders, and punish those who violate them.
Do I think we are ever going to completely get rid of illegal activity? No. Do I think we should still try. Yes. And I think we should use every tool we can to help enforce those laws. To me it is exactly the same situation as with Napster and iTunes. We need to make illegal immigration harder, punish offenders, make legal immigration easier, reward those who follow the rules. I am not looking for a quick fix. I'd just like the trend lines to start leaning in a more sane direction.
