Well I'm making my own definition and I'll expand on that based on your questions: * Sports are exciting because somebody can be seriously hurt or killed in even a practice. That is, it takes a high degree of skill and courage just to practice. * Games can be entertaining, but they're just a game. In the case of professional sports there's no excitement for me as every player is a millionaire and there's no danger; so there's nothing on the line. * Single player games are somewhat exciting as there's a singular competition to them and so personal honor is on the line. A loss is a deeply personal thing that can't be blamed on anyone else. American Idol: this is a single player game and so somewhat exciting since both personal honor AND money are on the line. This is the same thing that makes all reality shows exciting. Off of the top of my head I can't think of a team reality show - that is, where 1 team of 5 or more is pit against another. And if the members were millionaires then it'd really be boring. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:203105 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
