Generally the Ambassador has a contingent (like 2) Diplomatic Security
Agents with him. If shit gets worse their can be more agents, and
potentially marines if they need to pull him out.  However, it is also
customary for the host nation to provide security as needed.

BTW, I worked for Diplomatic Security for three years, and this didn't
happen.  Real attacks did, but not this kind of petty nonsense.
