Look, that way of thinking is utter and complete BS. It is the same, exact thinking of the Christian Missionaries that slaughtered millions of native americans in the United States, that enslaved and degraded an entire people in the Caribbean Islands because they needed to be shown the way to do things.
The notion that these islands, the continent of the US, and Latin America needed the white man to bring them to civilisation is utterly and completely stupid. There were far greater and more advanced civilisations than Europe existing in South America . They were destroyed by the Conquistadors and their ilk, using this same thinking. So forgive me if I view your opinion with utter and complete derision. A better question would be what greater civilisation may have developed in this region of the world if we did not have to contend with the Puritanical conservative christian ideals of the United States of Armorica. How much better off would the world have been if in that morass of inequity and corruption existing in North America did not exist. What if instead we had a modern civilisation born of the teachings and beliefs of the Native Americans. What if slaves had not been used to grow the industrial centers of that continent but instead had been left to build their own civilisation in Africa instead of being exploited, pillaged and murdered leaving a legacy that centuries has not been able to erase?
