Fan-fecking-tastic! Oh, how I wish we had this type of reasoned
leadership in the Whitehouse. Instead what we're stuck with is a
strategy that's never worked, but the originators can't abandon it
because of their poorly developed leadership skills.

It's sadly ironic that Mr. Bush's failure as a businessman mirrors his
strategy failures in fighting terrorism. Immature leaders pretend
they know what they're doing and conceal their errors with action -
trying to convince everyone that it's motion. Which is the existing
Iraq-centric policy on terrorism: lots of action, no motion.

Mature leaders know that errors are inevitable, can't be avoided, and
should be faced and sped away from as fast as possible. They put
metrics in place to quickly flag mistakes, admit the errors, dump
them, and change course.

It's taken Mr. Bush years to admit any errors, and he's certainly
nowhere close to changing his strategy. What a shame.

the world stage ... it's gone!"
