Agreed. > Not to mention the US food Industry does not want Obesity to suddenly > be seen as a huge public problem since all research indicates that it > is because of MSG laced foods and the intentional use of fats in every > common food item that contributes heavily to the problem. Agreed. But MSG is only part of the fatness and large portions we all consume daily. > Yes people are responsible for themselves, but when the cheapest most > widely available items are designed to make you eat more, and to get > you fat when you do it eat ,that must also be taken into account. > > However, the US government passed a law which prevented any > organisation or individual for suing the food companies over the > content of their food causing health problems, Obesity being one of > them. Not sure we should be legislating what people can and can't eat. and I thikn we've covered this before, but I am all for protecting business from frivolus lawsuits. Lawsuits like "I ate 5 donuts a day and I'd like to sue Krispy Kreme because I am Obese" have no place in the courts. It would be one thing if people were being told donuts aren't bad for you (like cig companies saying cigs aren't bad), but I don't think anyone's disputing the connection between eating poorly and gaining weight. -Cameron ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:207786 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
