Our debt is higher
- a big problem

We are in more danger than ever before
- how so? i don't agree with this sentiment. the danger has been there for
years. as T keeps saying, we are in fact in the middle of a world war, we
just don't call it that.

The government is siding with big business against me every chance it gets
- not sure i follow

The government no longer is a protector of individual freedoms and rights
- totally disagree there

Immigration is a problem
- funny how once upon a time immigration was the growth engine of this
country, now it is a problem.

The trade balance is not heading in the right direction
- what is the right direction? if we have more money to buy stuff, we're
going to buy it.

Taxes are higher than ever
- absolutely FALSE, just look at the historical statistics

The rich are getting richer than ever at public expense
- how are rich people not part of the public?

Gas prices, housing, insurance rates for car and healthcare
- All together now- the market! insurance, btw, is pricier because the
country is aging and we use more drugs than ever before.

personal privacy
- whatever, not a real issue

safety whenever I go overseas
- since 9/11, i have been to taiwan, indonesia, france, italy, and the
netherlands. i have not felt threatened anywhere i have been.

The price of cable and internet access.
- ?? what are we, communists? it costs what it costs, if you don't like it,
go to the public library.

Electricity
- easy solution- more nuclear.

Heating oil
- and this too

Clean air and water
- this too

Treatment of our returning servicemen
- something which needs to be addressed

The number of soldiers wounded and dying every day
- A sad reality in the current war, but one that we have committed to in
order to prevent bigger, more violent conflicts in the future by spreading
freedom and democracy in the middle east. whether you agree with it or not,
that is the strategy.

The entire American public is in a funk: pissed off, irritable, not very
nice.
- Yeah, well, with the press moaning constantly about any bad development,
it's no wonder. Bottom line, people will feel better when Iraq improves.
It's funny. When in history has a country been so invested in the success of
another country's aspirations to develop a free and democratic society? We
are in a funk because we care. We want Iraq to succeed. We see the
sacrifices our troops have made, the sacrifices our allies have made, and
above all the sacrifices the Iraqi people have made, and we want it all to
mean something. We want to know that all the struggle, pain and death leads
to peace and freedom for 20 million people. We're in a funk, but it's a
beautiful thing.
