I tried to sell two racks on ebay recently and got no interest. The racks were in perfect condition. They sold for around $1200 new. I started the bidding at only $100 I think. To be honest I didn't have the time to create an eye-catching listing but I figured that anyone looking for this type of item on ebay wouldn't care if the ad was plain (there were photos, though).
If all else fails you can sell them as a means to raise foundation heights on homes in New Orleans or create your own artificial reef :) Howie --- On Thursday, June 08, 2006 3:20 PM, Jerry Johnson scribed: --- > > We've whittled down our server rooms to a manageable size over tha > last year, and now we hae a ton of extra equipment. > > The main thing I want to get rid of are extra server racks. > > What would you do with 7 extra 42U Dell server racks (APC power > strips, tons of slide out mounting brackets, even the extra shelf? > > http://www.dell.com/content/topics/topic.aspx/global/products/pedge/topics/en/why_racks?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd > > I can see on eBay people are still selling them (for $800-1200 for > used ones), but do people really buy them on eBay?
