Amen, Tony.

Last month we cruised around the Hawaiian islands for a week, getting off at
each island to schmooze and such. Had a room with a balcony and a beautiful
view, the ship was The Pride Of America (brand new, ultra modern), and on top
of that, all we had to pay for was the room upgrade to balcony (ticket with
standard room was free), service overages, and air fare (which we got cheap).

I'll never do it again.

If I had to sum everything up in a word, it would be "sub-standard," and I made
that judgment in non-snob mode. Lousy food, too much hassle coming and going.
Even the islands, luaus, etc were very much "So what?"

When I summed everything up I realized that, from now on, it's a free-wheelin'
week in Jamaica for us come vacation time! :)

And the thing is, I like boats of all kinds. Used to sail when I was younger,
canoed throughout Canada for three summers, and even enjoyed my daily trip on
the Chicago Ferry going to work in the city as a kid. Just no cruiseliners
from now on.

Let us know how your excursion goes.
Respectfully,

  uhhh, dont go?

man, too many bad stories about dudes just like you disappearing.
  too many stories of diseases...

i dont know, i hate, LOATHE, abhor, DETEST cruises... so, im not one
  to ask, but id book
a trip to a beach somewhere, and be on land. i HATED the
claustrophobic feeling i had the whole time i was on one.

not to mention we were like 10 feet above water with our cabin and i
  hated it...
i woulda rather been on a balcony one anyday of the week!
