Tom, This is an open forum and you can speak freely. And maybe I imagined that tone of condescension and ridicule in your words below -- "Well, per Mr. Dinowitz's request, we are now all corralled into the correct forum." If you have a problem with how these lists are set up, you are welcome to say so. But please keep your tone respectful, as Michael and I put a lot into these lists and do not appreciate being talked down to.
But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Email does not always translate well. I will assume that I was misreading your intentions. As for the links you quote, I don't see anythng so terrible here. So some of the officers sold some stock. So why does that prove that MM will get rid of ColdFusion? It doesn't. In the last link you sent, I noticed that the loss posted at the bottom is about $30,000,000 less than it was last quarter -- a sign of some improvement. I also note that MM seems to be more responsive to the CF community than Allaire was, and CF's reputation seems to be on the rise again, not the decline. The Analyst recommendations in one of the very last links you sent show recommendations to hold or to buy, mostly, but no recommendations to sell. Every tech stock is down. Every company is having trouble right now. But I believe that MM has what it takes to pull out of this. Until there are other, clearer signs than some rumor-monging posts at F**d company, I would say let's give MM the benefit of the doubt. And yes, we should all know as many languages as possible, to give ourselves the best possible opportunities for jobs in the IT field. So go ahead, learn ASP. Learn PHP. And continue to improve your CF at the same time. It can't hurt. Judith Dinowitz >Well, per Mr. Dnowitz's request, we are now all corralled into the correct >forum. But guess what - it doesn't make the news any better - it just >limits the number of programmers that can, USING THEIR OWN WISDOM AND >KNOWLEDGE, will glean any knowledge and possible fore warning. > >Well, everyone knows how to read the tape, and everyone knows how to read >between the lines.
