So sorry to hear about Annie Gruss. I lost my Lady to a heart tumor 2 years
ago and I still miss her every day.

I know how hard it is to lose a dearly loved family member. My condolences.

Subject: Annie Passed Away

Our loyal Scottie, Annie, suddenly passed away this last Sunday. She was a
rescue and we only had her 7 years but she really gave us a sense of home
and so her loss is tough for us.

There are 2 things I'd like to share in the hopes of helping your pet or
others:

(1.) Annie died of undiagnosed congestive heart failure. This was horrible
for us because we had no idea she was sick, although we should've known. On
Sunday she woke up normally, did her routine, but was panting even though it
was cool in our house. By late afternoon she was becoming lethargic so we
took her to the vet. They tried to reverse her decline but, sadly, it was
too late and she passed away about 8:30pm.

We had no idea she was so sick and were treating her normally. They say
dogs with this condition will get "exercise intolerance" and sometimes cough
a lot. She definitely had the first (we just thought she was getting old),
but only once did she have the second. It's horrible to think we had signs,
should have known, and might have been able to help her much much earlier.

(2.) In Annie's honor and memory we made a donation to this poor Scottie:

Also, it turns out that Missouri is the puppy mill capital of the US and so,
consequently, if you're looking for Scottie to Rescue (or any
dog) you'll see a few here and that, but about 40 in Missouri.
They're kept in appalling conditions and the Rescue has to beg to get them
to release the dogs to their care.

If you'd be interested in rescuing a Scottie or, or any dog, you can find
