ya that's the thing... when is a war on terror ever over? 

I actually can see incarcerating someone for life -- it's on the table every 
time someone is convicted of murder, after all. But here's the key point -- 
that person was convicted in a court of law. If the Guantanamo detainees are 
criminals they should be tried as criminals. If they are prisoners of war, they 
should be treated as prisoners of war. 

You can't just say "I think you are a bad person" and throw away the key. Don't 
you see how dangerous that is to everyone?
