<rant> tell me about it. Albuquerque just passed a law proposed by our supposed animal advocate on the city council, and... ::sigh:: where to begin. I putter around the fringes of animal rescue, do emergency foster care in a small way, and I break this law thirty ways to sunday, and don't see how I can do otherwise. It contains some really stupid provisions. You can't leave a dog home alone? Hello? Even in a backyard that has food, shade and water? What are people supposed to do? It is also now illegal to allow a cat outside. Even a cat that is spayed/neutered and has flea protection and all its shots. Cats are cats, and they hunt. It's what they do.
