It sucks, I've had to center a couple of times at taekwondo tournaments, and
while the center doesn't score, you have to call penalties, and it's
entirely subjective and you've gotta go with your gut. Fortunatly in the UFC
they don't have to deal with irate parents with no MA background who try to
tell you how to officiate.

My standard answer "Sir/Ma'am, sit down, read the rule book and take some
classes, when you get your black belt and you officials credentials we'll
talk about it"

It was Herb Dean. I don't think the stoppage was any worse than
Arlovski-Sylvia 2 was, which IMO was pretty quick. After watching the
replay a couple times there was one elbow that connected that made Shamrock
look real bad the way his head went back, etc. Could be the ref was looking
right at his face on that one and jumped.

Who was the ref for the fight. If it was Big John, he tends to stop fights
at the first sign of what he considers to be trouble.

I know it's not about the amount of blood, I was just giving background to
how the other fight had gone. It was 4 quick shots, Shamrock didn't look
dazed at all, and he stopped it. It was a big, big let down. I can't even
say if Shamrock can keep up or not because they stopped the match within 30
seconds.

I was in a bar with over a hundred people and everyone was pissed at how the
match was stopped. I have seen matches where they let the unanswered blows
go until the other fighter looked dazed, this was just complete crap and
made me glad I didn't spend $50 to get it on PPV.
