So Novak still hasn't revealed his primary source but it's suspected to be Richard Armitage, and inadvertently. My take on the whole thing: Plame was confirmed as CIA by Rove in an effort to kill the Joe Wilson story. Basically he was telling the press, "hey, stop talking about Wilson because you'll just embarrass yourself: he's anti-war and was sent there on a boondoggle by his wife who's CIA". Despite the fact that there's various logic problems with that (he was sent before the war, he had impeccable credentials to go, etc) it looks like the administration was attempting to kill the story rather than punish Wilson. That is, her outing wasn't a leak.
