Truthfully?

I have decided to stop listening to anyone we uses the term "liberal"
or "left-wing" or "neo-conservative" or "right-wing" as an insulting
label. There is too much of that flying around, and I just don't have
time or energy.

I think it is these labels, and the polarization and lack of empathy
for others, that is truly at the heart of all of the problems in our
country (and in the world).

It is a lighter version of the same attitude that causes people to
strap bombs to themselves, or to fire a rifle into a doctor's kitchen,
or to say that Dick Cheney planned 9/11, but, in my mind, a similar
one.

And it seems to be an attitude that causes the person to assume all
evil intentions from the opposition, and never to apply the same
standards to their "pros" as to their "cons".

Maybe I painted Robert with a wrong brush, but statements like this
one definitely turned me off.
