Actually I think there was a great deal of malice on the part of the 
administration. It's how they have always done things, starting with Ann 
Richards in Texas. You may be right about Novak -- haven't looked into the 
stories that led you to that conclusion -- but I find the idea that all these 
people are innocents betrayed by an eviljournalist to be dubious at best, and 
that's taking into account my own prejudices.
