Because you'll burn up your minivan transmission trying to haul a boat or
trailer?  Sure there are some that use it as a status symbol, but there are
many others that appreciate the increased ground clearance (and sometimes 4
wheel drive) which helps immensely in slick and snowy conditions...  I don't
know, if you can afford it, who cares?  I drive a toyota matrix and I'm
getting close to 32 mpg in the city.  But if I could afford it, I'd be in a
8 cyl. 4wd Chevy Yukon with no regrets.
