> Why people have to bitch about it all the time is beyond me. Who cares?
Because, anecdotally, the majority of accidents I see on the highway on my bus route involve SUVs. Rollovers, single car accidents, sign posts, rear-end collisions, telephone poles. triple car accidents that happen because of stopping short and there's an SUV involved in every one, usually the last in the lineup. When I am standing at the bus stops on surface streets waiting for my bus the majority of sliding stop "oh shit the car in front of me has stopped!" accidents are in SUVs. I'll tell ya, there's nothing more exhilerating that watching a Toyota land cruiser and those knobby ass tires skidding. :-\ 'Cause people (not all, but a lot!!) drive in them like they were sports cars. Anecdotal aside: my former boss when I started at my current company 5 years ago drove a Durango, she'd drive that thing around in traffic like it was a sports coupe. Ever whip your SUV into a compact space? She actually has a sports coupe now, and when we went out to lunch the other day, I actually felt safer as she was finally driving a car that matched her driving style. Like I said, it's not all, but it's enough SUV drivers that turn me off the things. But hey, drive what you want. :-) -- will "If my life weren't funny, it would just be true; and that would just be unacceptable." - Carrie Fisher ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Introducing the Fusion Authority Quarterly Update. 80 pages of hard-hitting, up-to-date ColdFusion information by your peers, delivered to your door four times a year. http://www.fusionauthority.com/quarterly Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:211825 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
