For what its worth, theres a concept of last mile to the curb that is used
to set standards for thru-put delivery. In most cases, the phone company is
charged with establishing broadband infrastructure to the consumer. Except
when in rural areas where there may not be enough infrastructure to justify
deployment such as low census counts. For apx two plus years the power
companies have been pushing a white paper for setting standards on broadband
over power lines. To this point, their thru put can run as fast as 200mbps,
but will obviously be throttled down to be in line with current service
providers for now. It is most likely that you'll be quite satisfied with the
service.

Hope that helps.

Randy,

since you're in the Manassas area, why not check with the company running
the BBOP test in Manassas city proper, http://www.comtechnologies.com/ They
should be able to tell you more.
