Hezbollah totally controls media access to events on the ground in Lebanon. Israel, by the nature of being an open democratic society, does not have anything like the control over the press that Hezbollah exercises. The press presents coverage in Lebanon and Israel as having the same value, when the very nature of Hezbollah would suggest otherwise.
Why do media correspondents do that? 1. To maintain access. Remember Dan Rather's Saddam interview in '03? Dan could have been Saddam's fluffer for all the punch that interview had. 2. Because the events they see confirms their own internal biases and beliefs about the world. So is there a media conspiracy? No. Is there a liberal tilt in a lot of media coverage, owing to the beliefs of the people in media organizations? Absolutely. How many civilians v. Hezbollah fighters have died in Lebanon? Only Hezbollah knows, and you can be damned sure they are not sharing that information with the rest of the world.
