Actually, Yes.

The quote was that the goverment leader was driving the country into
financial ruin and eroding civil rights and you can very easily argue that
Bush has done more to do this than any other president.

And certainly elderly voters want what they were promised but the real
problem is politicians who think bloating the national debt as opposed to
balancing a budget is the way to go or maybe the system that forces them to
do this to get reelected can be blamed.
