I seem to remember a number of articles about jews or people of jewish decent being denied security clearance or having their clearance come up for an unscheduled renewal and denied recently. I seem to remember a court case where 2 people are accused of accepting inside information on Iraq, information that is far less damning than the information receved and printed by newspapers all the time. (the judge wanted to throw the case out, but...)
I can easily go on, but the point is that the questions asked about his heretage are just another link in a chain that looks like it ends in a noose.
