Paul,

So what do they have you on, at what dosage?

My brother had sinus problems so bad that he would pass out after writhing in
pain for an hour, and he's a very tough guy. The hospital had to give him a
$200 shot of something that took him to La La Land (the all-inclusive package,
with free bar, entertainment, and an extra mint on the pillow) in about eight
seconds, and that's the only thing that worked.

Man, the surgery stories I've heard from my in-laws are pretty amazing.
Sometime have an ENT surgeon describe for you a Midface Degloving. Just make
sure you don't eat first, if you're squeamish ;)

  Thanks for the info guys...

It turns out what the ENT prescribed as pain killers and what the hospital
gave me were lightyears apart. I had a letter to deliver from the ENT
surgeon by hand to my GP which proves it....

As of this morning I am now on the correct (much stronger) dosage of
painkiller so things should ease off a bit on the pain front from here on
in. That is two errors the hospital has made in this whole process that my
  GP has had to correct.

  1. At the pre-op assessment, they weighed me incorrectly and were out by
8Kg.. (about 17 lbs) which is very important when they work on your weight
as a factor for calculating the amount of anaesthetic to use... I had to get
re-weighed at my GP and take my details along on the day of the operation to
prove my weight had been taken incorrectly.

  2. The surgeon prescribed high strength pain killers, the hospital provided
  low strength pain killers. Nice.

  Paul
