ok I know it is another Skype topic .. Sorry...

I am kind of up in the air on which I want to use. Both have great
features that the
other does not have. Both have different costs associated as well.

AIM PhoneLine ($10/mth regardless of usage)
------------------------------------------------------
pro: nice contact listing
pro: nice dashboard layout
pro: frequent / important numbers
pro: clarity when in use
pro: ability to import contacts from Outlook

con: unable to use a different PORT
con: blocked by some firewalls (here at work)
con: seems like a delay in registering the phone is ringing
con: unable to choose a phone number you like.
con: only one number is used

Skype ($38/yr for SkypeIn / various rates for SkypeOut -- $.02 for US
based calls)
------------------------------------------------------
pro: able to work around firewalls
pro: ability to have up to 5 numbers (various locations)
pro: very clear when talking (unable to determine it is a computer
verses a phone line itself)
pro: ability to view and use contacts from Outlook

con: unable to store contacts from Outlook with multiple numbers unless
you want one entry per number
con: unable to categorize important numbers

Cost Comparison over 12 months:

AIM PhoneLine: $120
Skype: $38 + usage (250 minutes a month) = $5/mth ($60/yr) = $98/yr

With Skype I averaged 250 minutes a month as an example. If more minutes
were used, then obviously
the cost is higher.

Any thoughts on this? I know AIM Phoneline is more expensive but has a
better layout in my opinion.
Most all my friends, family and business contacts are on AIM. If I could
get it to work through the firewall
here in the office, I would forgo the extra cost and use it but doubt I
will be able to pull that off.
