Useful for way more than that though...great for sketching, freehand notes, 
diagrams, and even some games (crosswords for instance). And if you're like me 
and often use your laptop in places where a mouse isn't practical, and really 
hate using a touchpad or pointer, the pen works really nicely. 

The company I got my Motion tablet from (Allegiance) runs a nice "demo" program 
where you can borrow a tablet for the cost of the shipping. I will say as well 
that one thing that impressed me was how beat up that tablet was and yet still 
running. ;-)
