Same here, when I stationed in Europe our unit's motto was "The Few, The Proud, 
The Speedbumps."

Gives you a good idea about what we thought our chances were against the 
Soviets.

Actually though that soldier's attitude is one that's fostered in most good 
armies. If you look at the Budensweir, British or the Canadian armies, its the 
same attitude.   Many of the most prestigious medal awardees, (like the 
Victoria Cross etc.,), have the same same attitude, they soldiers were 
considering that they were just doing their job.
