Well, academically, this doesn't say he's horrible it just says he screwed up. We'd have to have larger sample size of improv-ed speeches to know if he was horrible at it. Here's the interesting issue to me: Kerry was in front of a real lefty audience so he tried to skew his speech to please his audience and get a cheer point. Instead he burned himself. But this is quite similar to what McCain has done and I think he's driving away followers as well.
