True but I'll add this anecdotal comment -

I've done a bit of public speaking in addition to the teaching I am
doing now at the associates level and worship leader during church
services.  One thing that I've been told both from instructional
materials and peer reviews is not to even think about improvising if
I'm not completely comfortable with the material and the crowd.
Slip-ups made in speeches like that tend to be more honest than any
speech written.
