They're not Murtha-esque
The ideas are to forget democracy and put in a strongman government or
let the Shiite take over. Make nice with Iran and Saudi Arabia and
force them to take on the problem.

This is the worse possible thing we could do. Remember Baker is the
one that pulled back support during the gulf war allowing Saddam to
massacre the rebels after we told them we'd support them. If do this
now we'll never be trusted again and there will never be peace in the
Middle East. Remember playing nice with Iran, Syria and North Korea
proved to be a failure. We need to play hardball to win.

In my opinion this will make or break Bush, if he gives up on
democracy now then this will have been a huge waste of lives, time and
money and make him on of the worst presidents of our time. If he
sticks to his guns and tries to save Iraq and it works he'll be one of
the greats.
