Hrm, that pixely thing sounds like a deal breaker for me.  That would drive
me nuts, and I watch a lot of non-HD programs.  I can't find any place off
Google that confirms (or denies) your claim.  Are you sure it's a known
issue with this brand/model?

Also, maybe I'm showing my ignorance here, but what is a ATSC tuner?  How
would I know if I have one?
