Michael, Macromedia is pretty visible on the cf-talk list, I even think 
that there may be a MACR lurker on this list..

If you really want to stick with CF, how about asking someone from 
Macromedia to contact your boss? I'd guess you would have to be careful 
about the way you approach it with the boss though...can't be stepping 
on the old peoples toes. :)

Of the languages you listed, coincidentally I think you listed them in 
the order of easiness (that a word?) to learn. ASP really isn't a 
language, you can choose JScript, Perl, and Python, as well as VBScript 
to write ASP code. Dotnet is apparently bringing on others too. I start 
to cringe thinking about developing complex apps with ASP though. Every 
little component costs money.

PHP is cool, and the most powerful of the languages, perhaps too 
powerful for just web development.

Knowing JSP will demand the best paycheck I think, and I just like to 
code Java better than anything else. It makes sense...
