An optical connection is basically a fiber connection for audio, they just
call it optical.

I stands for interlaced and p stands for progressive.

Basically with I you get half lines every 1/60 of a second, so you get a
full picture every 1/30 of a second.

With progressive you get the full pictures every 1/60 of a second.
