After the problems I've run into and the thread coming up here, I dropped an
email to an earlier client of mine that had a dedicated box at HMS and asked
how things were going. She also said things had gone downhill as well and that
their site had been down for 18 hours recently and she had a lot of trouble
getting assistance to get it back up. So it's not just shared customers. Most
of my issues were fairly minor and have been resolved for the most part. Just
frustrating due to all the other issues I am having with my old host, and
trying to get my domains transferred. I made the mistake of letting Crystaltech
register them for me and they used a company in Australia and I cannot seem to
get them to transfer the domains to a new registrar or even just change the
name servers. Their email support is nearly non-existant and I even tried an
overseas call only to be put on hold for 10 minutes and still not getting
through. CT was of no help, the best they could offer was to transfer the
domains to my control...something I can do myself by jumping through a couple
of hoops, and leaves me stuck dealing with this Australian company on my own.
So it's been a pretty frustrating week all around.
