Nintendo certainly knows that it cannot compete with Sony and Microsoft anymore on the "pure power" side of gaming, and that's why they're doing what I call "ipod style" marketing. They gave the Wii a cute name, make it look cute and they made the controllers VERY user friendly... throw backs to the old days of buttons A and B, and only left-right-forward-back arrow controls.
The Wii is outselling the PS3 from what I understand, by a fairly good margin, but I'm not sure what that means *OTHER* than the Wii is a lot more affordable and has been available in much greater quantities. My wife's step-sister works at Target and they have only gotten 2 shipments of PS3s, totalling 25 units. They've gotten 3 shipments of Wii's with 50 in each shipment. I have a gamecube right now, that I bought earlier this year. It's the first game system I have *EVER* bought new, and the first game system I've owned since the Sega Genesis and the original Nintendo NES. I'm most definately not a big gamer. But I will probably get a Wii at some point next year. rick ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Create robust enterprise, web RIAs.
