I've made it a point to assign static IPs to all of the internal machines.  
Makes things a lot easier in the long run (IMHO).  Another thing that makes 
things easier on our end, is that the router itself has pppoe built in, so 
none of the internal computers have to have the responsibility of keeping us 
online...
