my iPod has been working flawlessly for a couple of years now. My friends
creative died pretty quickly and they wouldn't repair it under warranty either.
I'm sure you could get a lot of stories about every mp3 player dying since
they're such small devices with even smaller moving parts.

The thing that clinches it for me is the fact that you can walk in any store
and find umpteen devices specifically for the iPod whereas you might find a few
for each of the other mp3 players.
