Interesting point. And I agree by the way. Whatever you think of the
war in Iraq, it is not within that soldier's power to stop it, and he
is making a routine non-political business enquiry which should have
been met with a courteous non-political answer.

In fact, the ideal response to this email should have been "How many
do you need? If it's within out means, we'd like to donate them,"
Think of the goodwill that would have generated.

Actually, this email should be shown to any CIO/CEO who thinks of
customer service as a cost center.
