So, the first thing I did was get a panasonic ip camera for $99. It was okay, it would alert me when something moved most of the time and sometimes would even alert me when it was raining. I wanted something a little better, so I went to gadspot.com and bought a two camera system w/dvr for about $320. It's been about 4 days, and I still can't get the damn thing to email me an alert whenever it records from motion. My panasonic keeps happily sending me emails, but not this thing. So I get on the tech support chat and here's a transcript of it (only the names have been changed to protect the innocent....err ignorant).

Michael You said your Panasonic is sending the emails with problem? zB: also, is that as good as the picture gets with this camera? zB: yes, the Panasonic has sent the emails without problem.
