Well, on average there is. Your average wolf is a fair bit taller and heavier 
than the average coyote. But just like dogs of a particular breed, not all 
animals are "average". The photo would be a fairly large coyote...but a pretty 
small wolf. However, its appearance to me looks much more like a coyote. Wolves 
do generally appear taller of leg...and also heavier around the neck and head, 
with smaller ears in relation to their head size. Hard to tell from these 
photos exactly, but it just looks like a coyote from what I can tell. It could 
theoretically be a red wolf...but not only are they really rare, but it again 
would be *very* unusual for one to hang around so close to people. Coyotes are 
far less shy and also much more likely to be solitary.
